I know the seal is about a tenner from ebay but does anyone know how to change it? You need a lever with a wedged shaped tool to pull out the drive shaft from the gearbox. I've looked in the gearbox workshop manual and and i can't see any reference other than fit a new seal but other seals such as the cam shaft seals are coated and should not be oiled so it wouldn't be a surprise if it is the same in this case.

Do not postpone this job. The tool is a puller which is screwed into the seal, fitting over the gearbox output shaft.
